Margaret's love of plants and flowers started when she was only 4 years old and she was given her own part of the family garden to tend. It quickly became clear that this was the best part of the garden and by the age of 10 she was the family gardener.
It is no surprise that belonging to the RHS is as important to her as is NAFAS and she felt so honoured when on her acknowledged record in NAFAS she was invited to join the RHS Flower Arranging Sub-Committee.
It was even less surprising to those who know her when she quickly became that committee chairman – now the RHS Floristry and Flower Arranging sub-committee.
She won her own Chelsea Gold as part of the South Midlands Area representing NAFAS nationally in its centre piece display in 2001
She has been a regular and frequent judge at all of the RHS shows including the major Floral Displays at Chelsea, Hampton Court, Cardiff, and Tatton Park
